Albrecht Daniel Gottlieb August Wimmer (1791-1863)
Wimmer was a Protestant minister, founder of schools, author of books on geography for the general public. Established a school centre at Oberschtzen, Burgenland (three-year primary school and lower secondary school) and, in 1845, a training institution for pauper school teachers (the first four-year teacher training institution in Austria). Was forced to emigrate in 1848 because he supported the Hungarian rebels returned to Vienna in 1863.
