Description:

More popularly known by his Roman name Cupid, Eros was said to have risen out of Chaos with Gaia and Tartarus, but later authors assigned Aphrodite and Ares as his parents. Eros became a companion of his mother, shooting his arrows at humans and gods to make them fall in love. He was frequently accompanied by Himeros and Pothos, but his most avid followers were actual duplicates of himself, called Erotes. Eros is most noted for his relationship with the mortal Psyche, q.v.
