Biography:

Harrison William Weir (1824-1906)
Known as “The Father of the Cat Fancy”, was an English gentleman and artist. He organised the first cat show in England, at The Crystal Palace, London, in July 1871. He and his brother, John Jenner Weir, both served as judges in the show.

George Cargill Leighton (1826-1895) 

Engraver, colour printer and Baxter Licensee. Originally apprenticed to George Baxter. Leighton opposed Baxter’s application for exclusive use of the colour printing process. The apprentices were eventually granted licences. Scarce.
