Map of Stockholm with a key indicating numerous points of interest. The city entered a period of urban renewal after a fire in 1625 destroyed the south-western part of the old town. Two new boulevards were built and along the eastern waterfront, the medieval wall was replaced by a row of prestigious palaces along Skeppsbron, which is located along the eastern quay of Stockholm&#8217s old town it is marked on this map as &#8216The Bank&#8217. New city plans with wide and straight streets were created of the areas surrounding the Old Town: Norrmalm, �stermalm, Kungsholmen, and S�dermalm, which can be seen in this plan.
