Amato (1835 – 27 January 1841) was an English bred, English trained thoroughbred racehorse who won the on his only racecourse appearance. He was then injured and retired undefeated.

John Frederick Herring (1795 - 1802)

Herring was a sporting and animal painter. He began as coach painter and worked as a stable boy and coachman until he was able to study under A. Cooper. For many years he painted many of winners of the big races.
