George Philip (1799-1882)
Phillip was a London geographical publisher & globe maker, founder of the firm George Philip & Son. He started business in 1834 in Liverpool & was later joined by his son in 1848. In 1856 the firm moved to London issuing a New General Atlas which this map is from.
