William Guthrie (1708-1770)

Guthrie was born in Brechin in Scotland. He wrote a number of histories and translated Cicero and is best known for, Atlas to Guthrie’s Geographical Grammar. This geography became one of the most important and widely read geography texts before and after the Revolution.
