Detailed map of Asia with Australia named New Holland and shown with an imaginary southern coast prior to the publication of the Baudin and Flinders voyage discoveries. Bass Strait is shown which was discovered by Bass and Flinders in 1797. Earlier Dutch discoveries are noted on the north and west. The east coast shows the discoveries made by James Cook on his first voyage in 1770.
