Detailed map of Asia by English mapmaker Robert Wilkinson. Wilkinson took over the business of John Bowles after Bowles’s death in 1779 and was based at No.58, Cornhill, London until 1816. The map shows the discoveries on the Australian east coast made by Cook in 1770 and the discovery of Bass Strait by Flinders and Bass in the Tom Thumb in 1796 but precedes the charting of the Southern Coast by Baudin and Flinders between 1801 and 1803.
