George Hamilton   1812-1883

Painter, lithographer, explorer, author and policeman. In 1839 he overlanded a mob of cattle from Port Phillip Bay to Adelaide. In 1848 he was appointed second clerk in the Colonial Treasury and soon after sold his lithographic press. He remained an active colonial artist.  Rare.
