Description:

Rare engraving of the Bawden Bridge, named after Thomas Bawden the Parliamentary Member which spans the Orara River on the Old Grafton Road. Built in 1874 it is one of six of the oldest lattice truss designs in NSW. It has a two-span continuous lattice truss, 77m long with timber beam approaches spanning a deep narrow gorge. It is supported on 3 wrought iron plate piers.
