Note this a complete bound set of all the Buller lithographs. Two volumes imperial 4to rebound in red calf with gilt bands Complete with 48 chromo lithographed plates by J.G. Keulemans and the 2 uncoloured plates of the bones of the Moa, and numerous text-illustrations. Only 1000 sets of this 2nd edition were issued by Buller, and is much grander in scale that the 1st edition of 1872 which only included 35 plates. Occasional light foxing at beginning of text and to some of the plates. The plates by Keulemens are considered his finest ornithological drawings. (Jackson)
