Detailed world map on Mercator’s Projection of the British Empire at the heights of its world wide power, from The Times Atlas which was an English issue of Richard Andree’s‘Allgemiener Handatlas’ and one of the most comprehensive world atlases for its time. The map includes numerous routes from major ports and includes three insets at the lower portion of the map with a list of the shipping lines operating the various sea routes;

Left     : Steam Ship Lines of Central America & the West Indies
Centre  : Steam Ship Lines from Ports of Western Europe
Right    : Eastern Steam-Ship Lines.
