Rare colonial engraving depicting the burning of new Members Pavilion grand stand, in August 1884.

A few years after the completion of the new Members Pavilion, the club suffered a major setback, when the main double-sided stand of 1877 was destroyed by fire. Spectators had to be accommodated in temporary and relatively makeshift accommodation for many months.
