Description:

Very rare detailed plan of Byron Bay and the proposed made of the proposed new jetty to be built in deeper water so that ships with bigger draughts could trade at the port. It was to be 1.830 feet and width of 30 feet and increasing to 50 feet for 450 feet.

The first jetty had been built in 1886, and the railway was connected in 1894, and Cavvanbah became Byron Bay in 1894. The new extended jetty was completed in 1928.
