Superbly hand coloured example of this c.18th detailed engraved view of the city of Longvek or Lavek, Cambodia. It was the second capital city during the Cambodia’s Middle Ages which began after the Khmer Empire’s Angkor Era.

The engraving is based on the original painting by Johannes Vingboons (1616–1670) painted in c.1665 which is in the The Nationaal Archief, Netherlands (accession no: NL-HaNA_4.VELH_619.45) and which was then first issued as an engraving in Francois Valentyn, account of the Dutch East India Company; Oud en Nieuw Oost-Indien, vervattende een naaukeurige en uitvoerige verhandelinge van Nederlands Mogentheyd in die gewesten, benevens eene wydlustige beschryving der Moluccos, Amboina, Banda, Timor, en Solor, Java . Suratte . Choromandel, Pegu, Arracan, Bengale, Mocha, Persien, Malacca, Sumatra, Ceylon, Malabar, Celebes of Macassar, China, Japan, Tayouan of Formosa, Tonkin, Cambodia, Siam, Borneo, Bali, Kaap de Hoede Hoop en van Mauritius, Amsterdam.  1724-1726.
