Interesting Italian map of the Pacific with inset map of Australia divided according to the theories for settlement by James Vetchs. Vetch had proposed the settlement and political divisons of Australia, on a &quotthe genial climate and thinly-peopled tracts of Australia&#8220 found in the 40th parallel south in which he records that the development of the worlds great empires had also been established in the same parallel. A further inset of south east Australia is added at lower right.
