Scientific name: Cracticus quoyi (Lesson, 1827) Common name: Currawong Distribution: In Australia from Cambridge Gulf in north-eastern WA to Broad Sound in Queensland apart from the southern part of the Gulf of Carpentaria. Aru Island and New Guinea.

Superb engraving from Voyage Autour du Monde, being the voyage of the Coquille commanded by Louis Duperrey in 1822-25. The ship visited many Pacific Islands including New Guinea, Tonga, Society Islands, New Zealand, Tahiti and Australia. Thousands of specimens were collected, many of which were new to science.
