William Lionel Wyllie (1851 - 1931)

William Lionel Wyllie (1851-1931) was a British artist known for his paintings, drawings, and etchings of marine and naval subjects. He was also a prolific illustrator of books and magazines. He was considered one of the leading maritime artists of his time and his works can be found in many major art museums and private collections. He was a member of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours, the Royal Society of Marine Artists, and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.
