Biography:

George Philip

George Philip II was the son of George Philip (1799-1882) who was a London geographical publisher, globe maker, and founder of the firm George Philip & Son. He started business in 1834 in Liverpool and from about 1848 he traded as “George Philip & Son” with his son and successor  Philip retired 1 July 1879 and the business was continued by his son and his nephew.
