A nineteenth century engraving depicting the impressive Walhalla memorial temple that was erected under the direction of Crown Prince Ludwig who conceived the idea in 1807 and completed the complex in 1842. Modelled on the Greek Parthenon, it celebrates distinguished people in Germany history. It proudly displays 65 plaques and 130 busts covering 2,000 years of history.
It overlooks the Danube River, east of Regensburg in Bavaria.
