John Pinkerton (1758-1826)

Scottish antiquarian, cartographer, author, numismatist and historian.

Based in Edinburgh, Pinkerton was an exponent of the Scottish school of cartography. Pinkerton’s main work was the “Pinkerton’s Modern Atlas” published from 1808 through 1815.
