Rare set of Leighton Fern prints the complete set of six each representing two months of the year.

Biography:

George Cargill Leighton (1826-1895) 

Engraver, colour printer and Baxter Licensee.

Originally apprenticed to George Baxter. Leighton opposed Baxter’s application for
exclusive use of the colour printing process. The apprentices were eventually
granted licences. Scarce.
