Description:
Wonderful poster by Maurice Realier-Dumas (1860-1928) from the famous French series of posters, Les Maîtres de l’Affiche.
Realier-Dumas was a native Parisian… In his poster work, which is rather infrequent and rare, he adopted a technique, of simple lines, flat colours, and economy of design. Maindron said of him that he seems to derive his inspiration from Greek vases and indeed, (Galerie Georges Petit) manifests a certain classic austerity that could well be so described.
