Description:

The Murrumbidgee Irrigation area was developed in 1906, the Burrinjuck Dam (originally named Barren Jack) supplied water to the region from 1909.

The New South Wales government commenced the development of the
Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area in 1906, the Burrinjuck Dam
(Barren Jack) supplied water to the region from 1909. Construction commenced in 1907 and completed in 1928, with a number of delays due to defects in the construction.
