Description:
Johann Plant’s map of the western Pacific using Djurberg’s name Ulimaroa for Australia. Djurberg published the first Swedish map showing Cook’s first voyage discoveries in Australia and the Pacific in 1780 (Tooley 446. p.58). His use of the name, propagated continued use by various mapmakers into the 19th century. He had based his application of the name on Cook’s account of his time in New Zealand.
