He has painted professionally since 1960 in New Zealand, England, Hong Kong, Singapore, Borneo, Fiji and the Pacific Islands. Aston has won many Awards for his paintings, including being the winner of the National Art Award, `The Dawson Hallmark Watercolour Award` in 1966. He lived in the sea coast town of Kaikoura for seventeen years painting the surrounding rugged coastline and mountains and recently moved to Blenheim. He has held many successful Exhibitions throughout New Zealand and is recognised for his ability to portray diverse subjects with both watercolour and oil mediums. His paintings have been purchased and can be found throughout New Zealand in both private and public collections and have been bought by Dignitaries and private collectors world wide.
