Le Plan de Paris, ses Faubourgs et ses Environs

Excellent large scale plan of Paris by Mathias Seutter a mapmaker, engraver and publisher from Augsburg. He was a pupil of Homann and then set up on his account in 1707 and appointed Geographer to the Imperial Court. This marvelous plan shows the original Faubourgs (approximating to the word suburb). Interestingly many Parisian streets have retained their ancient denomination which can be found by the thoroughfare’s name changes from rue to rue du faubourg.
