Biography:
Wilfred Williams Ball was born in 1853 in London. Ball started his career as an accountant but studied in his spare time at the Heatherley School of Art in Chelsea. He began exhibiting his work in 1877 and over the next two decades, his paintings and etchings were exhibited at various important institutions, including the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of Painters, Etchers and Engravers and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours. He was named President of the Society of British Artists in 1886 and was also a member of the Arts Club from 1896 until 1916.
