Scarce c.18th double hemisphere map of the world, with the tracks of Cook’s three voyages. Australia is shown prior to the discovery of Bass Strait which was named after George Bass, after he and Matthew Flinders passed through it while circumnavigating Van Diemen’s Land in the Norfolk in 1798.
