Large scale detailed double hemisphere world map on two separate sheets with text on either side. Numerous historical notes are included such as for the Australian continent; “thought to have been first discovered by the Portuguese and then by the Dutch in 162o”. The southern coast states “visits of Baudin and Flinders 1800-1804”.

French publisher of atlases who emigrated due to the outbreak of the Revolution in 1789. He worked under the pseudonym of A. Le Sage in England. and In 1801 he published his very successful atlas, Atlas Historic. The atlas was published in German, French and Italian.
