Description:

These four large lithographs were produced only twelve years after the establishment of Auckland following the Treaty of Waitangi. They are an important visual record of the development of the city not only because of their size but also their fine detail. Notoriously rare.

“Hogan’s set of four views of Auckland as it appeared in 1852 are among the best known and most valuable of New Zealand prints”. (Ellis.)
