Robinson produced a number of maps intended for excursions by car from Sydney. He was the pioneer in producing and promoting car and bicycle travel in New SOuth Wales. He was keen cyclist and while travelling in the early 1900’s recorded his travels and subsequently using that information to produce maps containing all the useful information he had gathered such as: places to stay, fuel stops, suitable roads and tracks.

Herbert Edward Cooper Robinson (1857 - 1933)

Robinson was a founder of the (Royal) Geographical Society of Australasia in 1885, a member of the Geographical Society of New South Wales in the late 1920s and a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society of London.
