Second edition of the first printed map devoted to Sumatra, from “one of the earliest and most important collections of voyages and travels.” (Hill 1418.) Issued in “Terzo Volume Delle Navigationi et Viaggi…” published Venice 1565. This edition is identified by the page numbers 433-434 and prior to the worming which effected the block in later editions. Ramusio’s Viaggi was first issued in three volumes in 1550-59. Ramusio Italian geographer who compiled a collection of travel writings, ‘Delle Navigationi et Viaggi, containing his version of Marco Polo’s journey and the account of the voyage of the French Parmentier brothers to Sumatra.
