Description:
Superb large scale wall map of Paris surrounded by twenty eight engravings of well known Paris landmarks. Logerot’s plan shows Paris enclosed by the wall of the Fermiers G�n�raux. The Louvre has been completed along the Rue de Rivoli but only a few of the twelve avenues which today radiate from the Place de l’�toile are traced. The views of buildings and monuments which border Logerot’s plan include, in addition to the C18th century Panth�on, the Tuileries and H�tel de Ville, both destroyed by the Commune in 1871, the Bourse, the �cole des Beaux-Arts, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, as well as the Pont du Carrousel (one of a dozen new bridges), the Colonne de Juillet in the Place de la Bastille, commemorating the Revolution of 1830, the Fontaine du Palmier in the Place du Ch�telet and the Colonne Vend�me, with a statue of Napoleon, all constructed in the first half of the C19th.
