Magnificent large scale sea chart of the Indian Ocean extending from the Maldives, Ceylon, Malaysia, Singapore and to Java in the east, based on Jaillot’s map. The map focuses on the most important spice regions of the C18th.

A finely engraved large compass rose is prominently placed in the centre of the map. There are three large insets along the bottom of the map;

Left: Kotchin and surrounds
Centre: Colombo in Ceylon
Right: Surabaya, Indonesia.
