Impressive large scale world map on Mercator’s Projection in full original hand colouring. A key at lower right indicates the “possessions” of the European powers. Across the lower section of the map is a cross section of the highest mountains with their longitude. at lower left is an inset of the south pole with latest discoveries made by Dumont D’Urvilles last voyage of exploration.
Australia is shown with the historical names for parts on the continent.
