Description:

Rare colonial engraving Australian aborigines coming back from a hunt.

From the original edition of the Illustrated Sydney News.

George Lacey (1817 - 1878)

Also known as G. L., G. Lacy, artist. A self-confessed adventurer, Lacy 'bade adieu to Old England and sailed for the Antipodes' and arrived in Sydney on 6 July 1842 aboard the barque Wilmot. As a skilled and amused observer of social foibles and appearances Lacy may be compared with his contemporary S.T. Gill.
