Description:
Jingellic sits on the Murray River in a beautiful valley between Albury and Corryong and has been painted by a number of well known artists. Jacksons early studies were under Frank Mahony in Sydney, Frank Brangwyn in London and Colarossi’s Art Academy in Paris. He befriended E.Phillip Fox and Augustus John during his time in Paris both of whom were a great influence on his painting. In 1910 The Art Gallery of New South Wales bought the first of a number of his paintings for their collection. From that time on he became recognised as one of Australia’s premier artists exhibiting regularly in Sydney and at Sedon Galleries, Melbourne.
