The warrior Minamoto no Tametomo (1139-1170) in his youth was sent to Higo on the island of Kyushu where he terrorised people with his violent temper. He is shown venting his anger at woman. Later he became a famous archer, celebrated in the C13th history, ‘Hogen monogatari’ as a superhero and defender of the Shirakawa Imperial Palace during the Hogen conflict.
