Hall Thorpe 1874-1947 Thorpe’ initial art training began at Fairfax & Sons Sydney, as a wood-engraver and later as staff artist. He exhibited oil paintings & some etchings in Sydney but his fame was to come when he left for England and exhibited his colour woodblock prints. Original colour woodblock signed in pencil lower right.
