Charles Smith was a London based map seller who at the time of publishing his, ‘Smith’s New General Atlas Containing Distinct Maps of all Principal Empires Kingdoms, & States Throughout the World Carefully Delineated from the best Authorities extant’, was the ‘Mapseller extraordinary to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales’. This map which is from this atlas which has a publication date on the title page of 1809 where the engraved maps have dates of 1808. Printed on thick Whatman paper.
