Boulton an artist and grazier, arrived in New South Wales in 1836 and took up land at Walcha. He frequently lived at his Sydney residences, firstly at Darling Point and later at the Gothic revival house, ‘The Rangers’,in Mosman, built by Oswald Bloxsome.
