Biography:

Robert Wendel

Wendell was a lithographic draftsmen and artist active during the latter half of the nineteenth century. He was a long-time collaborator of German-born lithographer and printer Charles Trödel (1835-1906), who moved to Melbourne, Australia in 1860.   He produced a number of magnificent colour plates, many from drawings by Baldwin Spencer, which illustrate the zoological and anthropological volumes of Spencer’s Report on the Work of the Horn Scientific Expedition to Central Australia, 1896.
