Description:

Early map of central Asia by the most famous of all Dutch mapmakers. Beautifully embellished with turbaned oriental figures, one holding a divider, while others lead a dromedary. Prominently shown is the extent of the Great Wall of China. Mysterious winged, human-like figures (homines), are shown in the area of “Desertum Lop”.

From the Latin edition of Blaeu’s, Atlas major sive cosmographia blaviana, qua solum, salum, coelum accuratissime describuntur.
