The Devil is adoringly cradling an infant Napoleon. With glaring eyeballs and flashing teeth, he puts his head close to the stern and slightly frowning profile of his darling, who gazes into his face. In the Devil’s right hand is a ribbon from which hangs the star of the Legion of Honour.
