Image of the famous bout bewteen Madrali and Hackenschmidt on January 1904.
Artist:
Allan Stewart (1865-1951)
Military and historical painter and illustrator. Born in Edinburgh and educated at the Edinburgh Institution and studied at the RSA Schools. He worked for the Illustrated London News from about 1895 and acted as their Special Artist in South Africa. He later accompanied King Edward VII on his Mediterranean tours for the same magazine and contributed fairy illustrations to its Christmas numbers.
