Description:
Rare detailed parish map of White Hills, Bendigo, dated 18th October 1854. Now a suburb of Bendigo, the name White Hills was taken from the colour of the clay exposed by gold miners at that part of the Bendigo diggings in the 1850s. Bendigo Creek, the site of the area’s first gold discoveries, runs upstream through White Hills.
