Description:

Very rare engraved colonial image of the ship Barrabool.

In 1912, the Barrabool had ran aground off the Fitzroy river in Qld and though floated off was found to be uneconomic to repair. She was abandoned to the underwriters, bought back by Howard Smith & Co and converted to a hulk in Sydney. In 1952 she was scuttled.
