Pietro Santi Bartoli (1635-1700)
Bartoli was born at Perugia, moved to Rome in 1635 and studied studied painting under Jean Lemaire and Poussin. He changed direction becoming a specialist engrave producing a number of plates of Roman monuments. His was a master engraver of bas-reliefs and other works of the ancients.
